Live: from Kinder, Louisiana
December 7, 2007
Greetings from Louisiana! Coushatta, to be exact, the Seven Clans Poker Tournament, to be more exact. Coushatta is a real nice casino resort. They have everything you could want except a gym, they even have a masseuse in her own little room with candles and a little waterfall. To be honest, I will more often need a massage than a gym. The tournaments are good and with a good structure except they do not go to antes. They have food out all day long and one of the WSOP photographers is on hand for a pictorial record of the tournament. They even have a little studio set up with a poker table and mountains of chips for those who never accumulate mountains of chips. They can get a “custom” photo. The folks back home need never know that it is a set up. Tomorrow, they will host the biggest event ever at Coushatta, a $3,100 buy-in with a million guarantee. The “big boys” are coming in from the curcuit event at New Orleans.
So far, I have not scored. If I do I’ll report it, if not, I’ll forget to mention it. (I started to write about all the bad-beats and card deadness but decided not to bore you!)
Last night, Coushatta hosted a lovely cocktail party for the players. The spread couldn’t have been better or more eye catching anywhere. They had a sushi station and lots of other goodies. The cake was beyond belief. I have never seen anything like it before, ever. It was about three feet by one foot (or larger). It was a poker table, complete with the rail, chips at every place, and a card spread. All of it was eatable. I heard the photo pro was going to take some pictures of it and I hope so. If so, I will figure out how to put pictures on this blog!
