Final Table Hit But Disappointed

I had a mixed weekend of poker which had more lows than highs unfortunately but I received a bit of a confidence boost in the last game I played. I didn’t play on Friday night because we had Pud Jr over to sleep and he hogged the laptop playing on Cbeebies and laughing at the Yeti Sports games I played for him. I did play Saturday but really shouldn’t have bothered if I am honest with you because I played like a total twat and rightly got owned! My day didn’t get off to the best of starts, despite some rumpage with Mrs P, as Pud Jr decided it would be a great idea to piss himself in his sleep! Not good as he sleeps next to me! Luckily I avoided his “present” but it wasn’t the greatest thing to be greeted with at 0800 on a Saturday morning!
I had my head up my arse for most of the day and I’m sure Mrs P thought I was a miserable twat but I snapped out of it and stopped being a dick! When we picked Step Pud up he dropped off to sleep pretty early after an Xmas party so we had some peace and quiet and I fired up some games. I played in a $6 SnG which I busted in 5th when I jammed UTG with a low M with 77 and the SB calls with TT. No suckout and GG me. I then hit Cogs up on MSN and got him to enter a $6 MTT on Party which turned out to be a fucking fixed limit which put me on life tilt! I ended up closing the table because I just cannot stand limit so fuck knows where I finished! We joined a $6 NLHE games a bit later and again I played like a tool and busted in something like 515/800 or something without really playing any hands and I thought fuck it and registered for an $11 SnG which again I fucked up and blew up in 7th. I gave it up for the night after that with only $10 and change of my free Party cash left. Fuck, bollocks, wank!
Step Pud thought it was a good idea to wake up about 0900 on Sunday morning and even though he fell asleep soon after I was wide awake and would only have bugged Mrs P if I stayed in bed so I got up and fired up Stars. Fuelled with coffee and fags I entered the first of the 10 $4.40 180 man games I have been staked for. Again I wish I hadn’t bothered! I made a post on Raise The River which shows all the hands I was dealt and they were real pieces of shit. I saw 2 flops in the first hour and everyone knows I’m no where near that tight! The table was mental and I’m sure if I could have picked up a decent hand I’d have sailed into the money but instead I busted in 59th and a bit pissed off. Sunday night was the night of the Wildcard Freeroll on DTD Poker. I almost didn’t play after I managed to lock my account by entering the password incorrectly too many times but 30 mins before the start it was all resolved. I wasn’t best please with my seat, sandwiched between Cloud to my right and Crazy Kenn to my left, dD in my BB and Matty H on the button when I was BB. There again any seat would have been bad as there was some quality at that table. I managed to get a decent stack when my QQ held against Matty H’s JJ all in on the flop but Kenn busted me when I raised with 99 and he shoved. Now the crazy fucker could have anything, I just can’t read him at all, and I called. He tables bitches and no suckout for me and out in 7th. Cunt had quad Aces twice too, a nice pot after busting Cadmunkey with 62o I believe. Big congrats to Amatay who took it down and will be on his way to Nottingham with BurnleyMik, Cogsgoigne, HullJimi and Voice of Joe to represent Raise The River at the live game early in 2008. Big shoutout to dD who played a great game and fell in 2nd place. I’ve locked horns a few times in recent weeks and always come off worse.
Towards the end of the RTR game I fired up a 4/180 on Stars. My stack was up and down like a porn star’s arse but eventually I managed to get a grip and started playing properly. I won’t go into many hands as I put a few in this thread here but if you have a look any comments, especially on my exit hand are appreciated. For those of you who can’t be arsed to click the link this is how the hand panned out. First hand of the final table and blinds are 500/1000/100a and I have 49k and am 2nd in chips. Two limpers come along and I raise to 5k with AsAh. Chip leader in BB calls as does one limper. Flop come Th9hQs and BB bets out 5k, limper folds. Now I was stuck what to do. I have the Ah making it more unlikely he has AQ or AK. I came to the decision he was drawing and taking a stab at the scary board so jammed. He insta-calls with 99 for a flopped set and I’m drawing to two outs. Neither appeared and I finish 9th. A few peeps have said make it 15k to go and go from there which seems like the best idea. Anyway, a final table appearance is good although I really thought I was in for the win the way I was playing. Someone commented saying “I bet your pudding’s don’t raise as much as you Yorkshire!” which made me LOL! I might get to play a couple tonight but I’m a bit tired as Step Pud is full of cold and isn’t sleeping right well which obviously effects me and Mrs P so an early one might be on the cards.
So not a bad start to the 180’s, I said from the 10 I am rolled for I wanted a win, two final tables and three cashes and I’ve ticked a few of those boxes already. Fingers crossed I can dish out some Puddination in my next couple of games.
