Four more throws of the Vegas dice….
December 13, 2007
Ok after a couple of days much needed break from poker I’ve decided to keep updating, hopefully 2008 will be an exciting year so might aswell let people know what I am up to on here. I appreciate the comments in the last post, good to know that people are genuinely interested in what I’m up to.
I have been busy organising my life today, booking three flights, catching up on emails, etc. I was very keen to get out of Vegas a few days ago but I’ve now decided to stay until the 19th, there are four more $1k buy-in tournaments over the next four days so I am going to play all of them and try to leave on a high note. After that I’m going for a month’s holiday in the southern islands of Thailand, though to be honest I end up logging more hours of online play when I’m there than I do when I’m in England, so not exactly a holiday. It was basically a toss up between Thailand and Australia as the next destination, if I had had a result here then the Aussie Millions would have been a lot more appealing, but it wasn’t to be. Returning to England was never an option, as I’ve mentioned before I like to follow the sun.
As for 2008, well I envisage being in England March - May (not sure about Feb, still a bit too Wintery), Vegas again in June and July, England August through November, and then either SouthEast Asia or Australia (ie the Summer from November onwards), which is roughly what I have done this year. As my mum asks, when am I going to settle down, well this is as close to a settled routine as I’m going to get, and one that I am happy with! When I’m in England I will play mainly online but will try to play as many UKPT Main Events as possible.
Maybe I will write some sort of end of year review in the next few weeks, looking back I really have had some highs and lows this year, but i wouldn’t swap it for anything!
Off for a bite to eat with some of the last remaining British stragglers in Vegas, Joey and Nosey, and then spend the next week trying not to think about having to tackle the dreaded Los Angeles airport yet again….
