Almost Ready For Lift Off!
January 18, 2008
First of all, thanks for the comments yesterday. Comments are the lifeblood of any blog and words of encouragement are always welcomed! Now for a couple of responses to those comments. Dremeber suggested discussing hand with someone playing similar stakes, like a buddy system. I’m more than happy to discuss hands with absolutely anyone if I have the time. Go ahead and post them on Raise The River or if you like add me to your MSN and when I’m online we can chat until the cows come home. My MSN is yorksh1repudding@hotmail.co.uk . My good friend the BurnleyFish mentioned I never seem to follow through with my plans and this is oh so true but it is different this time mate, it’s one of the things I need to work on because I used to be so focussed but then started being distracted by other shit. You can mark my words I’m deadly serious about this now. Rossi mentioned SNGEGT which I’ve looked into. I had a free trial of SNGPT but never really utilised it but I was very surprised at +EV moves, almost unbelievable! And last but not least, Amaturdburglar asking why I don’t post on his blog hardly any more. Truth is I don’t post on any blog hardly. I was a bit of a bad lad and did a lot of comments and stuff during work which I get a final written warning about. One slip up and I’m out of a job which I really don’t need so blog reading has taken a back seat. I do promise though to make more of an effort!
I didn’t get to play last night as I am waiting for my withdrawal to be processed by PokerStars. As I have received transfers that are greater in value to what I deposited I have to be vetted incase there is anything untoward in my play or where the transfers came from etc which takes up to 72 hours according to their email. I’m hoping it hits Neteller later this evening or Saturday at the latest. I’ve decided to stick my entire bankroll of $94.22 onto Full Tilt Poker for two reasons. First one is I much prefer the blind structure on Full Tilt. I hate the 10 minute structure on Stars and I especially hate the jump from 25/50 to 50/100 that Stars has. Also, believe it or not, Full Tilt seems to have a better selection of micro SnG’s suited to my bankroll. Over at Stars they have $1.20 games then the next step up are the $3.40 turbos, then the $4.40 180 man games followed by $5.50 matches. Whereas Full Tilt has the $1.25 games, then most importantly they have $2.25 games which are ideal for me. I’m also dying to try out their $3.30 Double Stack Turbo Knockout games where there are 90 entrants with the top 9 being paid from $72 to $5.62 and $0.50 for each fish you bust out. They’ve also started laying on 6max SnG’s from the $2.25 level which I reckon will be full of hyper aggressive donks so I might just have to sample some of those games too! I’m spoilt for choice really!
No Step Pud until Sunday as he’s going to his grandparents and no Pud Jr as he’s apparently not allowed out for 12 days after having his operation so I might actually get a half decent sleep in for once. I’m starting to feel pretty tired as we don’t go to bed until pretty late and I’m setting my alarm for 0730 but not getting out of bed until almost 0820 because I’m so shattered. Time to recharge the batteries Pud! If my withdrawal hits in time I’ll utilise the baby-free time and hit some games in peace and hopefully get off to a profitable start, if not I’ll just have to wait until after the weekend and wait until the baby Pud’s disappear to bed before starting my bankroll and skill building challange. I’m really looking forward to playing with true focus and getting to show that all micro players are not donks. It’s going to be a massive grind initially but one that will develop me as a player and set me up to play much higher stakes in 6-12 months and from there anything is possible!
A couple of other things before I sign off. Firstly, I wrote a little piece for the Raise The River blog the other day about my $4.40 180 journey which Cloud has now posted for me. I’m not sure I’m entirely happy with it because I had written two different pieces but forgot to save the fuckers so ended up sending the admin team my third attempt. Also, I had to LOL at my carton of eggs giving me an allergy warning that the carton contained eggs. On further inspection I have also been warned my KP Dry Roasted nuts do in fact contain nuts and my 4pt carton of whole milk may contain, wait for it…..milk. I mean come on, who’d have though a bag of nuts would have nuts in? Fucking world has gone crazy!
Have a great weekend and best of luck at the tables!
