2008 World Series: Super Dario leads final table
June 18, 2008
At the 2006 World Series, fellow blogger Howard Swains dubbed Dario Minieri "Super Dario."
Since then, Swains' description has proven true more than a few times. Dario Minieri, king of the "go big or go home" poker game, has made his way deep in a lot of big events and proven there is more method than madness to his style. Some people see the scarf-wrapped head and think kamikaze. More often than most people would like, Dario proves to be more of a guided missile.
Witness. Today, Super Dario leads the final table of the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em Six-Handed event. Should he win the bracelet, he stands to make $528,418.
Congratulations to Team PokerStars Pro Bill Chen who finished in 19th place in the event for $15,594.
In other World Series news, Barry Greenstein and Daniel Negreanu are shooting for their second bracelets of the 2008 World Series. Both players made Day 2 of the $5,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low World Championship .
Good luck to Dario, Daniel, and Barry today.
