HeadsUp Entertainment International Inc. announced the coming launch of the new poker TV network in March. Programming will consist of shows produced by the company for the past three years.
To date, the company has produced over 20 hours of original poker programming and features poker pros such as Phil Hellmuth, Antonio Esfandiari, Huck Seed, Joe Hachem, Gavin Smith, Phil Laak and Jennifer Tilly.
The network will debut online at CanadianPokerPlayer.tv. The online format will make viewing avilable worldwide and will share content with HeadsUp’s print magazine, Canadian Poker Player.
“There are so many amazing players and stories that we find on tour”, stated HeadsUp President and CEO Kelly B. Kellner. “Both the magazine and our online network will give players from across the country a forum and showcase as we strive to build new poker superstars.”
The company also operates the Canadian Poker Tour (CPT), which held 362 events in 209. They expect that number to grow to over 500 in 2010.
“We believe we will see changes in the way sponsors react to their customers and having the ability to reach large scale audiences with on the spot promotions, I am excited to be able to deliver a medium for innovation of content delivery,” stated Kellner.
Earlier this month, the CPT announced that poker pro Lacey Jones would be the new spokesperson for the tour.
